Recap of the Apple event: new iPhone 14, AirPods Pro, Apple Watch 8, and more

It was a busy day for Apple today. The iPhone event brought us the new iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, complete with new cameras, a larger screen, and eSIM card support. The new AirPods Pro was also announced, along with the Apple Watch 8. Here’s a recap of everything that happened today.

The new iPhone 14 and 14 Plus comes with a host of new features, including upgraded cameras, a larger screen, and eSIM card support. The camera system has been completely redesigned, with two new sensors that allow for up to four times the amount of light gathering. This results in better low-light performance and improved image quality overall.

The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus also come with a new feature called Smart HDR 3, which uses machine learning to improve the dynamic range of photos. The display on the iPhone 14 has been increased to 6.1 inches, while the iPhone 14 Plus comes with a 6.7-inch display. Both models come with support for 5G networks, and Apple has also included a new feature called eSIM that allows you to connect to multiple networks simultaneously.

The new AirPods Pro comes with a host of new features, including active noise cancellation, transparency mode, and a new design. The new Apple Watch 8 comes with a host of new features as well, including the ability to measure blood oxygen levels, a new always-on display, and improved performance.

iPhone 14 and 14 Plus Hands-On: New Cameras, Larger Screen, eSIM Card

This year, Apple released four new iPhone 14 models, two of which—the Pro and Pro Max—might have the most talked-about upgrades. The Pro models have a pill-shaped display cutout in place of the infamous notch, and Apple has added a Dynamic Island for alerts and live activity tracking.

The fact that there is a second, bigger model with a large screen called the iPhone 14 Plus may be the biggest improvement to the non-Pro iPhone 14. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus both receive a tonne of new features, such as a new SOS Emergency via Satellite service, an improved Cinematic mode, a new video stabilization tool called action mode, and all the key iOS 16 features you’d expect (the new iPhone software comes with the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus).

We’re going to get our hands on all the new hardware soon, but for now, here are all the new features and changes that Apple announced for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. Let’s start with the most talked-about change: the cameras.

Camera And Sensor

The biggest camera change is the addition of a new sensor. It’s not just any old sensor, either—this is a 47% larger sensor than what was used in the iPhone 11 Pro. According to Apple, this will let in up to four times as much light, which should lead to better low-light performance and overall image quality.

The new sensor also has 100% Focus Pixels, which means that autofocusing should be quicker and more accurate. In addition to the new sensor, there’s also a new image signal processor that Apple says will improve noise reduction and enable better HDR photos.

The new camera system also enables a feature called Smart HDR 3, which uses machine learning to improve the dynamic range of photos. Apple says that this results in more natural-looking images with more detail in the highlights and shadows.

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus also come with a new feature called Night mode portraits, which uses the new sensor to improve low-light performance when taking portrait shots.

In addition to the upgraded cameras, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus come with a larger display. The iPhone 14 has a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 14 Plus comes with a 6.7-inch display. Both models come with support for 5G networks, and Apple has also included a new feature called eSIM that allows you to connect to multiple networks simultaneously.

The new AirPods Pro comes with a host of new features, including active noise cancellation, transparency mode, and a new design.

The AirPods Pro is also sweated and water-resistant and comes with three different sizes of silicone tips for a perfect fit. The new Apple Watch 8 comes with a host of new features as well, including the ability to measure blood oxygen levels, a new always-on display, and improved performance.

All of these new features come at a price: the iPhone 14 starts at $699 for the 64GB model, while the iPhone 14 Plus starts at $799 for the 64GB model. The new AirPods Pro are priced at $249, and the new Apple Watch 8 starts at $399.

Even with the new phone’s $799 (AU$1,399) price tag, the iPhone 14 isn’t a significant improvement over the iPhone 13. It uses the same A15 system-on-chip as before, but Apple has switched to a 5-core GPU for faster performance than the phone from the previous year. Although the main camera is still 12MP, a larger sensor has been added for better low-light images. The front-facing selfie camera has been upgraded to a 12MP sensor with improved image stabilization.

iPhone 14 Plus:

The iPhone 14 Plus is the more significant upgrade over the previous year’s model. It uses the same A15 system-on-chip, but Apple has switched to a 6-core GPU for even faster performance than the standard iPhone 14. The main camera has also been upgraded to a new 16MP sensor with better low-light performance. In addition, the front-facing selfie camera has been upgraded to a 20MP sensor with improved image stabilization.

iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max Features and Cameras

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are the most significant upgrades over last year’s models. They use a new A17 system-on-chip that is 50 percent faster than the A15 in the standard iPhone 14. The main camera has been upgraded to a new 48MP sensor with improved low-light performance. In addition, the front-facing selfie camera has been upgraded to a 20MP sensor with improved image stabilization.

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max also come with a new feature called Smart HDR 3, which uses machine learning to improve the dynamic range of photos. The display on the iPhone 14 Pro has been increased to 6.1 inches, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max comes with a 6.7-inch display.

Both models come with support for 5G networks, and Apple has also included a new feature called eSIM that allows you to connect to multiple networks simultaneously.

The biggest surprise of the day is the fact that iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max aren’t getting the rumored $100 price increase. Both phones come with the same A15 system-on-chip as before, but they have been upgraded to an 8-core GPU for even faster performance.

The main camera has also been upgraded to a new 36MP sensor with better low-light performance. In addition, the front-facing selfie camera has been upgraded to a 24MP sensor with improved image stabilization.
